April 22, 2026 - Englishtown, NJBamboo Harvest.
Locally harvested bamboo is one of the most abundant overlooked materials in the region. With warmer seasons and shifting growing conditions, stands across New Jersey now behave more like subtropical systems—fast growth, aggressive spread, and heavy seasonal biomass. We’re exploring how to turn that pressure into practical use.\
Bamboo offers renewable poles, stakes, trellising, screening, craft material, biomass, and fiber potential from a resource that often needs cutting back anyway.
Current focus:
Selective harvest, pole curing, end-sealing, drying methods, structural use in garden systems, and small-scale fiber experiments.
